Oracle MWM & MDM Applications
Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) is an integrated resource planning, scheduling and dispatching system with mobile client and business analytics feature. It can be deployed on cloud, on premise, and hybrid models.
S&H Inc helps utilities in implementation and support of Mobile Workforce Management systems to achieve the following benefits:
- Reduces operating costs while improving asset life and customer satisfaction.
- Increases on-time responses, wrench time, and job completions.
- Reduces travel distance, vehicle emissions, and missed appointments.
- Improves productivity and decreases crew hours and overhead.
- Incorporates training, work administration, and performance monitoring.
- Provides deployment options to reduce IT complexity, cost and risk.
S&H Inc supports Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) application and are specialists in implementing, extending and integrating with other systems using the following core MWM features:
Service Management: Configuration and implementation to accept requests from host systems (CIS, OMS, EAM) to perform activities in specific field locations. Configuration of dispatch activities to best matching crews and Monitor activities while the crew in action. Report status updates, interim and completion details back to the host systems
Resource Management: Configuration mobile workers, vehicles, crews and dispatchers in MWM system. Assist business in generation of crews shifts based on templates and define periods of unavailability (POU) of a resource to perform work.
Scheduler: Oracle Real-time Scheduler (ORS) is a core scheduling engine used for real-time activity scheduling based on specific business drivers. It supports a standalone application on various mobile device types with single mobile framework by ensuring secured asynchronous communication with wired or wireless network types. It manages software and data deployment on the mobile devices. It also enables access via any HTML5 browser and Mobile device independent (Windows Mobile, Android and iOS).
Mobile Application: It operates on top of the mobile communication platform (MCP) to allow crews to request, adjust and start their shift from their mobile device. The crew can also view and work their schedule of activities as they are dispatched to them, take a break or attend a meeting, make changes to their shift as needed and complete their shift.
The mobile application will record outcome of tasks and shift completion details. The crew can work their tasks and end their shift even offline. When back in network range, task and shift completion details are asynchronously sent to the MWM server application.
Dispatcher: It has sophisticated visual overviews which allow dispatchers to make complex decisions. Common Dispatching Interface (CDI) is used to display dispatcher’s crews and their schedule in a Gantt format. It also allows allocating, dispatching, unassigning and deferring activities. The CDI interacts with a Map viewer to show where crews are or expected to be, their routes, activity locations and more on a map. It is used to tracks dispatcher shifts, records when they logged on, any significant event throughout their shift as well as when they logged off.
Alert Management: Out-of-box configuration support for alert creation, recycle and snooze for situations that requires intervention of dispatcher from the back office. The MWM system constantly watches for preconfigured alert conditions and raises alerts when they occur. These alerts can be configured to be assigned to a single logged on dispatcher responsible for its resolution.
GPS Data: With GPS integration, the actual location of crew is identified to allow the scheduler to promptly respond to real time changes in plan and re-optimize crew routes. It assists dispatchers in making same-day work allocation decisions. A crew may be associated with GPS data sent in by their mobile device (via the mobile application) or an external GPS system embedded in their vehicle.
Integration: Oracle MWM plays a vital role in enabling real time scheduling in field workforce management. New business processes to send and receive data between MWM other utility host systems are orchestrated using Oracle SOA, Webservices, BPM and BEPL integration technology tool stake.
